John asks…

Anyway to increase chances of having a boy?

This may seem silly, but once pregnant, is there any home remedies to increase the chance of having a boy? I’ve seen where eating lemons help increase having a girl. I already have a girl and my man is a grease monkey so we’d like a boy now lol. Im already 6 weeks along. I would be happy with any baby as long as it’s healthy, but I want to know some home remedies to increase chances of having a boy:) thanks!

admin answers:

Shettles Method.. AS your pregnant it’s too late, this is for next time !!!

Gender Selection: To Have A Boy

If the boy sperm are faster but have a shorter life span, then the Shettles objective is to time lovemaking in nearest proximity to ovulation – right before ovulation takes place or the day you ovulate. The concept here is that Y-chromosome sperm will swim quicker than the X-chromosome and more of the Ys will reach the egg sooner. Therefore, the chances of having a boy are increased.

Remember, the egg can survive for only 24 hours following ovulation. Only one sperm can fertilize the egg (out of the millions who start the journey), so timing intercourse close to ovulation would favor quicker Y-chromosome sperm, even if their lifespan is short.

Shettles advises that to increase the odds of having a boy, do not have intercourse during your „transitional“ fertile days four to five days before you ovulate. Rather, time lovemaking directly prior to and during ovulation. The Shettles Method also suggests deep penetration in order to get the sperm closer to the cervical canal, closer to the egg, and more likely closer to the abundant cervical mucus that should be present during your most fertile days. As for sexual position, Shettles reco mmends rear entry or „doggy style“ for deepest penetration. According to Shettles, women should try to have an orgasm at the same time as the man; purportedly, orgasms increase endocervical secretion and increase the alkaline level of the vagina. Men should avoid wearing tight cloths and hot showers, etc, prior to intercourse as heat will more likely weed out the Y-sperm than the X-sperm.

When summer vacation begins, classroom learning ends for most students. Even so, summer doesn’t have to mean a complete break from learning. Students starting summer jobs have the opportunity to learn some important life lessons. Summer jobs offer students the opportunity to learn about the working world – and taxes.
Here are six things about summer jobs that the IRS wants students to know.
1. As a new employee, you’ll need to fill out a Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate. Employers use this form to figure how much federal income tax to withhold from workers’ paychecks. It is important to complete your W-4 form correctly so your employer withholds the right amount of taxes. You can use the IRS Withholding Calculator tool at IRS.gov to help you fill out the form.
2. If you’ll receive tips as part of your income, remember that all tips you receive are taxable. Keep a daily log to record your tips. If you receive $20 or more in cash tips in any one month, you must report your tips for that month to your employer.
3. Maybe you’ll earn money doing odd jobs this summer. If so, keep in mind that earnings you receive from self-employment are subject to income tax. Self-employment can include pay you get from jobs like baby-sitting and lawn mowing.
4. You may not earn enough money from your summer job to owe income tax, but you will probably have to pay Social Security and Medicare taxes. Your employer usually must withhold these taxes from your paycheck. Or, if you’re self-employed, you may have to pay self-employment taxes. Your payment of these taxes contributes to your coverage under the Social Security system.
5. If you’re in ROTC, your active duty pay, such as pay received during summer camp, is taxable. However, the food and lodging allowances you receive in advanced training are not.
6. If you’re a newspaper carrier or distributor, special rules apply to your income. Whatever your age, you are treated as self-employed for federal tax purposes if:
*. You are in the business of delivering newspapers.
*. Substantially all your pay for these services directly relates to sales rather than to the number of hours worked.
*. You work under a written contract that states the employer will not treat you as an employee for federal tax purposes.
If you do not meet these conditions and you are under age 18, then you are usually exempt from Social Security and Medicare tax.

Sandy asks…

What interest would work best to pay back 30,000 dollars?

Which type of interest would work best? Simple interest or a compound interest loan?
In 24 months?

admin answers:

Teh only way you could afford to pay back a loan like that is if you already make about 80,000 a yr and have zero other debt and your monthly payments are going to be insanely high – like at least $1400-1500 a month

what is teh money for – that’s an odd amount to be paying back so fast and unless it is for a car or other item that can used as collateral, you will probably never get approved for such a loan

Mark asks…

How much does it cost to travel round SE Asia?

How much would it cost to travel across SE Asia through Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam? With same lengths of time spent in each country.

Trip duration:60 days/2 months

Could you please include in your estimate: Travel (no planes, just buses and trains), accommodation, food, little trips etc.

Thankyou very much!

admin answers:

If you’ve spent time in these countries before, you’ll find that it’s fairly easy to get by on $20-$25USD per day in Thailand & $10-$15USD per day in Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam.

However, if this is your first big trip to this fantastic part of the world, I’d recommend allowing yourself a little more money to play with so you don’t end up getting bogged down in the budget whilst you’re out there.

Personally I’d budget for $20USD per day in Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia & $30USD per day in Thailand. Spread over 60 days, that’s $1350 for the whole trip if you’re spending 15 days in each country, not including the air fare out there.

That’s daily costs, accounting for budget accommodation, scooter hire, fuel, budget/mid-range food & gives you more than enough room for little random things every now & then like the odd bus ticket or an item of clothing. I would however put another $250 on the overall budget to allow for that big thing you might do a couple of times out there, like scuba diving or seeing the Angkor temples (both of which I massively recommend!).

So, budget for $1600-$1700USD – you can do Southeast Asia for less, but that’d be all you’d need to live comfortably & not have to stress about the budget when what you’d rather be doing is exploring the country.

Ken asks…

Would it be ok to have shredded paper or cloth as bedding for my rats?

I am getting two rats soon and I need to know if I could get some shredded paper just copy paper (regular printing paper) or some old clothes and rags for bedding? Also what could I use for a rewarding treat?

admin answers:

I wouldn’t use copy paper; it will have sharp edges that could cut them. If you ripped it up by hand, making sure there are no sharp edges, it would work. Newspaper with soy-based ink is safer than regular paper. Keep in mind that both will have no odor control and will get soggy and need to be changed every day.
You can use cloth but if they chew it long threads can come loose and get caught around feet/toes/tails/necks and cause serious injury or even death. If you want to use a fabric bedding I suggest fleece. It’s safe for rats and doesn’t need to be sewn. Just wash it once every 4-7 days using white vinegar (1/4c for a small load) instead of detergent.

Other safe bedding options are Carefresh, Yesterday’s News (unscented) and aspen. NEVER use pine, cedar, sawdust, clay/clumping cat litter or anything scented.

This best treats to give them are fresh fruits and vegetables. They should be getting them daily but once you figure out what their favorites are you can use those as a reward. You can also use yogurt drops but they shouldn’t get more than one a day, each. You should avoid giving them junk food.

There are some foods they should NOT have.

Make sure to do plenty of research on their care and please make sure the *wire* cage is big enough.
