There are FOUR WAYS to get a backstage pass. From somebody that posted this information here on Yahoo Answers in the past. That is really knowledgeable on this subject & some editing of my NYC experience on this.

1)
You must KNOW someone connected with the band or tour, more like a relative that works for the band/concert/promoters. Or, if you are lucky have a friend or a neighbor that has a relative that works for the band or the promoters directly. Or somebody you personally knows that
works for the band or promoters directly that has these connections.

2)
Be a news reporter. You would have to be one connected to your local newspaper or local TV/radio news team. Also, people that are internet news bloggers very rarely get these unless they are very well know in the news industry. I have seen a few teens that get a website
and claim they are a news blogger (Sorry, that just don’t cut it).
Also, the news people can’t just show up with their news crew and be let in backstage. They have to arrange this in advance. Especially these days.

3)
A local radio station will sometime have a backstage pass or two of the concert and offer it as a promotional prize.
Either you have to be the 7th or 10th or 12th caller.
Or hope that the entry form you filled out gets picked out by the radio DJ or whoever they have in a random drawing.

4)
Sometimes a person will have one and will sell it on EBAY online auction or Craigslist and EXPECT to pay REALLY BIG DOLLARS (like hundreds or thousands) for one.
You have to be careful when buying these from these websites. Some people I have seen that show up at a concert and pay $300.00 and more on one only to learn the backstage pass they bought is nothing but a laminated fake that security can easily spot.
Some of these backstage passes have bar codes or security strips on them, depending on the agents and promoters.
On some concerts the promoters will give a backstage pass to a person. Sometime these backstage passes are not transferable. If the person is not the name on the ID code on this backstage pass they could be in some trouble.

Those are the ONLY WAY you will get a backstage pass legally.

Jesus was not referring to the thief that they would pass on to Paradise that very day. It was simply a contextual statement in which Jesus made him a promise, that very day, where he would eventually see Paradise. As far as the 144,000, yes, Jesus will be in Heaven ruling with the „kings and priests“ for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4b).
Now, further exploring we know that Jesus was and continues to be a spiritual creature. The only time he was not was when he was here on Earth and that was only for a short period of time to fulfill the Will of Jehovah and offer himself as a ransom. The „Sons of God“, described in the Bible as being the spiritual angels, dwell in Heaven. This is their proper dwelling place and the only exceptions allowed to this rule were to carry out a message or task in accordance to God’s will. This rule was clearly defined in the days of Noah when the opposing angels of God „did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place“ (Jude 6). What was God’s answer for this blatant opposition to His purpose? He drowned the entire inhabited Earth (save for Noah and all in the ark) and forced the angels to leave their bodies and return to Heaven where God placed „eternal bonds under dense darkness“ reserving them for the day of Judgement. Reading Hebrews 1:3 we get a better picture of Jesus‘ condition; „He (Jesus) is the reflection of his glory and the exact representation of his very being, and he sustains all things by the word of his power; and after he had made a purification for our sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty (God) in lofty places.“ Therefore, this gives us a pretty good indication that Jesus will not be in Paradise in physical form. Why leave his „lofty“ position next to Jehovah simply to take an inferior human form?
So where does that leave us with your question? The phrasing of Jesus‘ words, „you will be with me“ versus „I will be with you“. This is dependent on what you mean by spiritual form in conjunction with „I will be with you“. Many people believe in the spiritual form as being a condition of the heart or something that exists within an individual. They often get this by texts such as when the congregation was „filled with the holy spirit and started to speak with different tongues“ (Acts 2:4). But this is different from the spiritual presence that Jehovah, Jesus and the angels maintain. The holy spirit is God’s active force and he uses this force to carry out his Will. He can use his holy spirit to give people strength, he used it to create everything and he can even lend some of it to allow others to perform miracles in his name. While Jehovah and Jesus are considered spiritual „people“, the holy spirit is more like a tool. It is this tool that allows Jehovah to hear prayers and be „everywhere“ without having to actually leave his lofty heavenly throne. (A comparative analogy is how we can have a conversation with someone across the country using the telephone. The phone is not a person but it gives us the means to communicate with someone who is otherwise too distant.)
If you weren’t asking it in terms of Jesus spiritually approaching this person then we can break this down to a much simpler context.
John 14:2-4 and 6: „‚… I am going my way to prepare a place for YOU. Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for YOU, I am coming again and will receive YOU home to myself, that where I am YOU also may be. And where I am going YOU know the way.‘ ‚Jesus said to him: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'“
Jesus here was speaking to his apostles. But the message stands. He is preparing the Heavens and the Earth to turn ruler-ship back to his Father. Jesus gave the thief the opportunity to be with him in God’s kingdom in Earthly Paradise after the resurrection. Did the thief understand the implications of Jesus‘ words. Doubtful. Not fully anyway. He spent a few hours with Jesus. The apostles spent years and they still had a hard time understanding him fully. But he had a measure of faith. I hope this helps. Always seek to expand your knowledge of God’s word. And remember, prayer is a powerful tool when understanding the Bible. As Matthew 7:7 points out „keep on seeking and you will find“.
