Your Questions About Pokerus And Macho Brace

How do I ev train togepi in pokemon diamond and pearl?

How do I ev train togepi in pokemon diamond and pearl?

admin answers:

Ok. EV training. This is not the same as happiness training so WATCH OUT. Each pokemon slayed will give some points in one or several stats. 4 EV’s=1 stat point (at level 100, because stat gain is not immediate!). The maximum EV’s in each stat is 255, but thats a waste of 3 EV’s cos 255 is not divisible by 4, so 252 EVs per stat
is recommended.

Basically, you either train your pokemon as a Defender (tank/wall/sustainer) or Attacker (physical sweeper (physical moves) or special sweeper (special moves). Defenders generally have a high defense or special defence and sometimes good speed. Their job is usually to take hits while you heal your attackers. I recommend Special Defense EV training for the final evolution of Togepi because it already has a naturally high Special Defense and EV training it in Defense is quite useless because it is naturally so low. I will tell you how to evolve it later. Now EV training.

If your pokemon has already been fed some vitamins, or battled some pokemon YOU WILL NEED A NEW ONE (generally bred). Feeding it and battleing the wrong pokemon and vitamins will stuff its EVs up. Make sure you feed it vitamins for Sp. Defense (recommended), as this will speed the process up. Max. No. Vitamins for each stat is 10. Each vitamin gives 10 EVs, but after your pokemon has 100, it can’t be fed any more. Pokerus (very rare) is also good ‚cos it gives double EV’s to your pokemon.

EVOLVING YOUR TOGEPI- The guide
Firstly, to evolve it to Togetic (second stage) will require it to be VERY happy. I recommend doing this through it holding the SOOTHE BELL (makes it happy). Happiness is a hidden value, so you don’t really know how happy your pokemon is until you get the Friendship thing app for your POKETCH. This shows you hearts, the bigger the happier your Poke is. Happiness can be from 0-255. It goes up and down depending on certain things. When it is caught with a normal Ball, it has a happiness of 70. When hatched, it has a happiness of 120. When caught with a luxury ball, it gets bonus happy points.

When it get 220 happiness points, this is when evolutions happen.

How to get your Poke happy: (table taken from a Walkthrough and few paragraphs after)

Event Normal W/Sooth Bell W/Luxery Ball |W/Both Walked 256 steps +1 |+2 |+2 |+3 |
Use Healing Items +1 |+2 |+2 |+3 |
Using a Stat Item +2 +3 +6 +7 |
Go up a level |+2 +3 |+6 |+7 |
Happniess Berries |+2 |+3 |+3 |+4 |
Veilstone Massage |+3 |+4 |+5 |+6 |
Resort Area Massage |+5 |+6 |+6 |+7 |

„Stat items are your EV items, such as Proteins, HP Ups, PP Ups, and soon. I am not sure if Rare Candy falls under level up happiness, Stat increasing happiness, or both.

Healing items are your revives, potions, soft drinks, full heals, and such.

Its also good to note that I estimated the Ribbon Society Massage and
Healing item Happiness Points, so they may be higher or lower. Either
way, the Ribbon Society Massages give more Happiness Points then the Veilstone ones do, so its around 4 or 5 happiness points. Bitter Items decrease happiness.“

Back to EV TRAINING
„The macho brace is a very helpful item to shorten EV
training. Attach the macho brace to a pokemon to decrease it’s speed but double the EVs it gets. The speed decrease is removed once you remove the macho brace. You should use the counter app on your poketch to keep track of how many battles you have had with a pokemon.

How do you tell if EV training is finished in Pokemon Diamond?

Im talking about Diamond here. I know everything about EV training. I know how to tell when its done. But when i go to the lady that tells you she says the exact same thing every time. Work harder. to me this is fishy. I EV trained alakazam in defence but then i gave himA iron and when i tried another iron it said that it wont have any affect so i had completed Defence with 255 EVs then My Alakazam got PKRS virus so as a battled tentacool with it a got 2 EV’s. I used a move that had 10 pp and when it ran out i had 20 Ev’s. I have done this at least 15 times and yet the lady still says im not done. Why? By the way Alakazam is lv 46

admin answers:

Its because you only trained half of his EVs. You have to get another 255 EVs in a differnt stats or stats and then teh lady will giv eyou an effort ribbon. Also why are you training your alakazam in defence??? Stick with Satk and Spd. Ok so theres your answer, but since you are just using pokerus for EV training, you should also get the macho brace. Get all 3 types of burmy, the pink one you can get by going to valor lakefront and battling with it in the diner place, then go to pastoria city in the house left of teh move relearner and show him 3 burmys to get the macho brace. When held, it doubles EVs. That means pokerus and macho brace is x4 the EVs. Also it reduces speed in battle. But its in battle so if you are EV training speed then the macho brace wont hinder your training, it will still be x4.

Charles asks…

I have a Lv.5 Beldum in Pokemon Emerald with a Mild Nature. How Exactly should I EV train it to max SP ATK?

I received this Pokémon from Steven after beating the league. I’m unsure how I should begin EV training it. I have a Macho Brace and this Pokémon, as you can see, has the Pokerus. What Pokémon should I be battling to increase my Special ATK stat? Looking for detailed answers! Many thanks

admin answers:

Wow, you’re lucky you’ve got pokerus. The best spot for ev training in special attack is route 113, where the spinda and skarmory are. Spinda appear 70% of the time and give you one special attack ev. Since you have pokerus they’ll give you two points each. You should put beldum on the exp share and beat up the spinda with another pokemon until it is a higher level. It will still gain 2 points for each spinda. Once your Beldum is trong enough, battle the spinda with it and hold the macho brace. The maximum amount of evs you can have in one stat is 252. You can count any way you want.

How to Ev train my munchlax/ snorlax for defense in pokemon diamond?

Also could any one else explain to me fully how i could ev train my munchlax/ snorlax in detail. What exactly should i do?
Where should i train it?
For how long?

Explain in full detail what i should do to ev train its defence?
also how do i know when i am done training?

like how many geodudes or onixs do i need to beat before have my snorlax at maximum defense

admin answers:

Alright, well wat u wanna do is fight a lot of onix and graveler, preferably low levels, like on iron island

give ur pokemon and item called a macho brace, which double the amount of ev’s ur munchlax/snorlax gets after a battle, but makes ur pokemon slower in a battle (which doesnt really matter considering snorlax’s base speed)
or u could give ur pokemon a power belt, which isnt as great as the macho brace, and only gives ur pokemon 4 ev’s in defense, which is one stat point
also, if u hav a pokemon with the virus pokerus, spread it to ur pokemon by having the infected pokemon in ur party, and go into battles a few times till it spreads

now, like i said before, battle pokemon like onix and graveler, at low levels, so u can finish training early
onix gives 1 ev point in defense
graveler gives 2 ev points in defense

u can battle these pokemon in iron island, where they’re at pretty low levels
also, u can battle their evolution forms, like steelix, and golem, steelix gives 2, and golem gives 3

here’s a list of all the pokemon that give ev points for defense

A quick question about Pokemon EV training?

I’m new to all this, my friend explained it in a way I kind of understand it but I’m still abit confused. So I’m trying to get my speed stat up for my Charmeleon. I’m battling Basculin which gives me 2 Speed ev’s. My Charmeleon is wearing the Macho Brace and has Pokerus, I put him at the front of the team and then switch him out so I can kill the basculin easier, so after the battle, how many speed ev’s am I earning?

admin answers:

2EVs from normal fight. 2EVs from macho brace. 2EVs from Pokerus. 2*2*2=8 speed EVs for your chameleon. You are also earning 2 for whatever pokemon you use to end the battle. So in total, you’re earning 10EVs.
