David asks…

Where is the „Split“ button on a TI 84+?

I am copying a source code for Poker onto my calculator and for one of the lines it says:
:Split
I have no idea how to make it say that besides simply spelling it out but that doesnt work so there has to be a specific button or place to find it. I’ve checked the catalog and it is not in there. can anyone help???
ok this is barely part of the code but:
:FnOff
:AxesOff
:PlotsOff
:Split
:10000=>(thats the STO sign)M
:Lbl P
:ClrDraw
:ZDecimal
:ClrHome

I figure it would prbly be in the Window or Vars section but ive checked all the menus i know of and i cant find it

Hmm… It’s odd that something like „Split“ would appear in a TI-Basic program for the TI-83/84/Plus/SE (it is for one of those, right?).

If you don’t mind, you could please post the link of where you downloaded the poker program in the first place? I’d like to take a look at this.

I have a feeling though that by „Split“, they’re really trying to split the screen in half (so as to display cards on the graph screen, and numbers/calculations on the home screen). This is further evidenced by the fact that they use both ClrHome and ClrDraw a few line after. The Horiz command would accomplish this. Horiz can be inserted by press [Mode] while editing a program, and selecting it on the penultimate line (the calculator should normally be on Full).

I’ve got all online calculators. In my opinion, Poker Pro is a superior calculator. First of all, it’s very flexible and accurate. Secondly, it includes opponent tracking that no other calculator does. You can also check out opt.

There is a banner for one at the bottom of the link page. It’s outstanding, and they offer a free trial of it.

But in all honesty you need to study and learn the game. You shouldn’t need a calculator to tell you the chances of hitting your flush when you are four cards to it on the flop.
