James asks…

Another Poker question for poker players?

In a No limit Hold’em Sit n go tournament what is the „ante“? or the „running ante“ i know how the blinds work but i thought the Ante was only used in Omaha and not texas hold’em

Ken asks…

Can Poker Sites Cheat and Make A Lot More Money?

Online, for sure, easily! I played another tourney just now on CARBON POKER and they cheat for sure! i think they deal so many straights and flushes and sets to addict people. just in the first 26 hands in this tourney there were many straights, even tho usually only 2 players saw the flop. it iss always like this at carbon. you never see weak hands win like you see a string of 4 straights straight and a flush in 6 hands like at the end of this list! of course the bad play, lucky people who get miracle rivers an get lucky have hi ratings on sharkscope.com . has to be rigged and people who deny it work for the sites. notice how they are the same people coming to yahoo to deny anyone would have any reason to cheat.

Yeah poker sites don’t care at all who wins but I’m betting you don’t do a lot of it based upon your play. Just as a tip you want to have something before you bet 😉 I just looked at a few hands but your play here is absolutely terrible man. That more than explains the fact you’re losing here and it’s going to be the same thing whether it’s another site or live poker. You need to be checking and folding this garbage not betting out with it.

Nancy asks…

Best way to track online poker income for tax purposes?

Right now, 100% of my income is from online poker. I cash out $2,000 ever 2 weeks or so and have a check mailed to me. I play Sit-n-go tournaments almost exclusively. If you don’t know what this is, you basically sign up for a small tournament (between 9 and 45 players), and once enough people have signed up to play, it starts.

My question is, what is the best way to track this for my 2008 tax return? I’m sure ideally I would record every single tournament, but by the end of the year I will have thousands of tournament results, but it seems this is rather tedious for both me and the IRS.

Would it be more effective, or legal for me to simply track the cashout checks? Since I’m working with an out of country company, and the money’s not really „mine“ until I have a check in hand I thought this might be ok.

Also, I never make deposits (and actually never have, but that’s another story) if that makes any difference.

Donna asks…

(Poker NLHE Question) Pocket Jacks on the button when faced with a raise and a re-raise in the blinds…?

$10 – 10 player Sit N Go – start of the tournament

What would you do???

Lets hear your responses…

admin answers:

You definately should be more conservative at the beginning of the tournament and fold. You could be ahead(they could have AK,AQ,1010,99), but there is no reason to take the risk early on in the tournament with the blinds so low.

But I am confused about the question. Did you raise on the button, then the small blind three bet you, and the big blind four bet? Or did you limp on the button, the small blind raised, then the big blind 3 bet? Because if the second one is the case, then I might considering calling on the button, or even raising. Once it gets down the the blinds, the players range is definately wider, and your hand is really disguised by limping on the button.

Sharon asks…

what do u think about pokerstars? Solid on-line poker web site?

Fair? Lot of Options? Tournaments? Bonuses? Sit n Go’s? Good players? This might be a lie and probably is but i heard they favor the person with the largest chip stack? True???

admin answers:

No that is not true. PokerStars is the best online poker site there is. They frequently have over 100,000 players online at the same time.

Anyone that tells you the site is rigged or that they some how fix the cards so that a big chip stack does well is just retarded. The cards are as random as any real life casino. Why would a site as big as this one risk their entire business to rig the games? They make enough money straight up.
