The mathematics in poker are rather straight-forward and could, in theory, simply be learned through brute memorization. This would be on a game by game basis however. That is, it is possible to simply remember the odds of winning of all the typical combinations in hold’em.
Doing the small amount of math involved is likely easier than just memorizing this. Whatever you lack for in math skills will need to be made up for in other skills, like reading opponents. The more you can do of both the better.

In micro poker tournies how is it possible to not get infected and?
go on tilt by all the bad players that dominate these tournies.. It seems all the players who try to play serious get rivered by the donkeys and then go on tilt, it is like a zoo in here. I’ve got rivered 5 times in a row and I feel like my whole poker tourny has just been ruined.. It is so dangerous to play in these tournies unless you’re one of those donks.

1) Sit out for at least the first 30 minutes and up to the end of the first hour. Gives a chance for the maniacs to burn themselves out. If you want, you can sit out but keep watching and just play your blind positions. Overall this will put you a little behind when you do sit in fully, but it’s worth it to be rid of a lot of the loons.
2) Play only top, premium hands and see the flop as cheaply as possible. Yes, you will get sucked out often, but that’s poker. Honestly, in a tournament that costs a dollar or less to get into, do you really think people are playing tight, conservative, smart poker? You get what you pay for.
3) DON’T play drawing hands early on, especially to big preflop raises.
4) Fold more. When people make outrageous bets or raises, it doesn’t matter how bad they are or how good you are. You’d better have the hand to back up your call. If someone bets big on the flop, that flop had better have hit you or you should get out, no matter how good a draw you have.

How do you convince people to play strip poker with you?
I was just wondering, because the other day me and some people were playing poker and i really wanted to start playing it, but i just couldnt bring myself how to ask, so i need some advice for next time.

I’m not exactly sure how to break into it either, but sometime you could start out with a coy joke and ask if the other card players have ever played and did they have fun? You could say- I’d like to try it sometime and see what the reaction is. I know that I could just ask my crazy friends and they would do it.

Why not just invite people over and host a strip poker party. It’s like a costime arty or toga party or anything else. I did this once in college and it was alot of fun. Send invitations and tell everyone in advance. Have them RSVP so you make sure to have enough players and the balance male to female is good and make sure they understand, if they are coming the have to play.
Most important thing is to post the rules before hand and have everyone agree. Decide when a player „loses“ and the game stops. Our rules were people played to their underwear (bra and underwear for girls). Once they lost the rest of their clothes, they couldn’t get dressed again until the game was over.
We had everyone wear underwear that they were comfortable with. Some had boxer shorts with crazy patterns, some girls were sexy underwear, but no long underwear was allowed. We took a picture before with everyone dressed and then a picture at the end of the game with everyone in their underwear wearing paper bags on their heads.
It was alot of fun!
