Quarter on the Deuce (2’s wild have to pay $25 to use em as a wild card)
Football (6/4 wild)
Baseball (3/9 wild)
Wulworth (5/10 wild)
Heinz (5/7 wild)
Low Hole
Roll your own Low Hole
High Hole
Roll High
Low ball
Jacks or better
Black-eye Betty
stud 5/7 nothing wild
7-10 card no peek
Follow the queen (queen and anything after it is wild)
kris kross
spit in the ocean
blind man’s bluff

So if anyone knows of a poker game we don’t cover I’d love to learn it.

admin answers:

You’re missing Badugi, Chinese, Razz, O8, 2-7 triple draw (or is that what you’re calling lowball?), triple/single draw, Chicago, Pineapple (Crazy Pineapple).

Also, you shouldn’t play every game no Limit, some games require a little structure in the betting to make the game function as it was intended. Any serious action heavy game, such as Omaha should be Pot Limit, instead of No Limit.

PS. Follow the queen was actually named „Chase the B***H“, until the PC nerds got a hold of it.

How to play poker and other card games?

My grandpa gave me a two person poker set that he got years ago with some scotch. It has two stacks of chips, four dice, and a deck of cards. Can anyone give exact instructions on how to play poker and some other games. I’m going out of town on a long hunting trip with my friend in the morning and we want play while we are there. I don’t have time to look up instructions online

I don’t know ANY poker game that involves Dice but here’s how to play Texas Hold’Em poker:
Each player is given two face down cards and a round of betting occurs.

Then, the dealer burns a card (take the top one off) and then places 3 face up cards in the middle of the table for all players to see.

Another round of betting occurs.

Then the dealer burn a card and places a 4th face up card in the middle of the table for all players to see.

Another round of betting occurs.

Then the dealer burn a card and places the 5th and final face up card in the middle of the table for all players to see.

A final round a betting occurs and all players still in the hand show their cards.

Each player uses any combination of the two cards in their hand and the five cards on the table to make the best five card poker hand.

So if I have AJ and you have 47 while the five cards on the table for all players to see is A5A68, my best hand is AAAJ8 while yours is 45678, and since 45678 beats AAAJ8, you win and rake in all of the players bets.

This is how the best hand is determined:

with a High Card being the lowest hand the a Strait Flush being the highest.

This is how betting works:
The player left of the dealer starts the action. (S)he (lets call him/her Leonard) can check (bet $0) or bet. If Leonard choices to bet (Let’s say $5), then the player to Leonard’s left (DeVore) must either Call, Raise, or Fold. If DeVore Calls, he must put in $5 (the equal amount of Leonard’s bet), if he Raises – he must put more than Leonard’s amount (let’s say $10), if he Folders – he will give up all chances of wining money he has already added to the pot will be lost. Let’s say Leonard Raised and place $10 in the pot.

All players at the table fold except Leonard, who it is his current turn to act. His options are to Call the $10 (place an equal amount, and since he already has place $5 in, he’ll just need to place another $5 in for a total of $10), Raise, or Folder. Let’s say he Raises and place $15 more in, for a total of $20. Now DeVore has to decide to Raise (again), Call, or Fold. It would be $10 more to call, but he thinks Leonard has a great hand and so he Folds. Leonard now take in the pot, which consists of his $20 and DeVore’s $10 for a total of $30 and $10 in profit. Since DeVore Folded, he lost his money already in the pot (his $10) but had he Called and lost the hand, he would have Lost $20 as opposed to $10, but if he Had called and won, he would have taken in a pot of $40, his $20, Leonard’s $20, and thus get $20 in profit.

Now I’ll give you another scenario but with less explanation.

All player are dealt their two cards and Leonard once again is left to the dealer and thus will start the action. He checks (bets $0). DeVore, since there was no bet before him, now has the option to bet, or check; He checks. Johnsen is Left of DeVore and thus it is his turn, he bets $5 and Skogsto to his left Calls him. To Skogsto’s left is Ratcliff and he Raises $5 more for a total of $10. Catalaá to his left folds and now it’s Leonard’s turn again and he calls, then DeVore folds. Johnsen now must call for $5 more dollars, fold, or raise, and he raises it up $10 more for a total of $20. Skogsto now must place $15 more dollars in the pot to call and he folds, thus loosing $5. Ratcliff folds and it is now Leonard’s turn again (Catallaa was skipped, as he’s no longer in the hand because he folded) and he calls.

Now three cards in the middle of the table are dealt for all players to see, though it only concerns Leonard and Johnsen as every one else has folded. Those three cards are AJK.

It is time for another betting round, Leonard checks, Johnsen bet’s $5, Leonard raises $5 more ($10 total) and Johnsen Calls by placing $5 more in the pot.

The next for all players to see is dealt in the middle of the table, it’s a 9 (so the whole thing is AJK9). Leonard bets $5 and Johnsen calls.

The 5th and final card is dealt in the middle of the table for all players to see, it’s a 3 (so the whole thing is AJK93). Leonard bet’s $50, but Johnsen only has $30 left, and then of a player bets more than you have, you must push all your money in the pot if you with to call, Raise is obviously not an option. Johnsen calls and turns over KK, and Leonard turns over A9.

Johnsen’s best possible hand is KKKAJ which beats Leonard’s best possible hand which is AA99K. Johnsen takes the whole pot, but Leonard take $20 back, this is because Johnsen could not make a complete Call on the last round of betting, as Leonard bet $50, but Johnsen only had $30 available.

How and where to learn poker and others card games? 10 points?

I wrote a tutorial on how to play Five-Card Draw Poker, and Texas Hold’em poker here:

Draw:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ani92RyGUrbQYrMAbVzFggXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120716090550AAzWSK4

Hold’em:

Both are very detailed but one thing I somehow forgot to mention was this:
The player left of the dealer goes first and the dealer button (that chip that says „DEALER“) revolves clock-wise around the table, moving to the next player on the left after each round.

Another great game to play is Gin Rummy, I am not sure if my rules here are 100% correct, as every player seems to have learned slightly different rules — but ultimately it’s the same game:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aof3p00xbtsPNXWKb1QQ7cfty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120716180133AAGT7sh
For more formal, „official“ rules visit this web page (read mine first so you’ll be less confused):
http://www.pagat.com/rummy/ginrummy.html

All three of the above games are very mind intensive, all though you may not realize it at first. Many people think cards games like poker are just luck because you can’t control what cards you get, but luck only controls what cards you get; it doesn’t control what your opponents do, what you do, and if you want to win, you’ll need a lot more than just good cards. Bluffing is without a doubt the most known skill element of poker, but it is only one of the many elements. For every hand you can tell if your average outcome will be profitable or not by using mathematical techniques (POT ODDS) — that will come way later though (it’s ultra confusing at first), for now just learn the game.

Another popular card game is Blackjack, many people think they know how to play it but few casino virgins actually know how to play it. Here’s Blackjack rules:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao3IylSvBQgmdVNF581hweUjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20120610142305AAyJv1o
Read this after you read my rules:
http://www.pagat.com/banking/blackjack.html

Blackjack can be either vary mind intensive or as mindless as slots depending on how you play. It is one of the few games that with proper mathematical skill can gain the player an edge over the casino. That’s pretty complicated to though and I won’t go into it.

Hope I helped and if you have any questions, just ask.

P.S. Don’t play for real money until you seriously understand this game, otherwise you’ll be a fish that will be fed to the sharks.
I would start off by playing for free at http://www.pokerstars.net/ca/ (no this is not some spam website), 10,000,000 players play there, you will always find a game, and it’s good practice for beginners. Completely free, no risk involved.

You can learn to play for free at numerous sites, but expect no decent play. Just get acquainted on the basics like understanding big and little blind, betting rules, board lay-out, what beats what, etc… There are also many kinds of poker but the most that people play is Hold’em. Even playing in the casino, you get a lot of reckless players that just have no regard for the game. Check online for tips and general play. You can view play on youtube as well.
