Your Questions About Pass To Me Pitbull

Robert asks…

How come some american bulldogs are taller than others?

Like half of them are short and have stubby legs but others are tall with more muscular legs? Why is this? I was thinking about getting a pitbull or an american bulldog but I want the tall american bulldog not the short ugly ones

admin answers:

After WWII, the original bulldog breed was nearly extinct in America. A man named John Johnson took it upon himself to revive the breed with the help of breeders such as Alan Scott. After some time passed, it became apparent that Johnson and Scott had different visions for the breed, so two types were developed. (A few sub-types have also developed, but most people split American Bulldogs into the Johnson type, the Scott type, or a hybrid of the two.)

These are American Bulldogs of the Johnson type:

They resemble English Bulldogs, as you can see, which is because Johnson utilized the English Bulldog when he recreated the breed. Johnson type American Bulldogs are wider, larger, stouter and have more typical Bulldog faces.

These are American Bulldogs of the Scott type:

They look lighter and leaner, and their heads more resemble those of American Pit Bull Terriers.

American Bulldogs aren’t recognized by the American Kennel Club, so there is no single, strict set of standards that they should follow.

If you want a certain type of American Bulldog, then you should simply do your homework on the breeder of your choice before you purchase. I mean, you wouldn’t rush in and buy a puppy without carefully examining both parents, right? So check out the puppy’s lineage, and see if they’re the type of American Bulldog you want. Here are some questions you ought to ask the breeder before buying:

What is a good brand of food for my Pit?

I have a handsome 3 year old Pitbull. Being that he is a pit and mostly white is allergic to everything, even me i think;) I have tried lots of different brands of food, but when i find one that doesn’t turn him red as a cherry I find that he has BAD gas. Any suggestions on a brand of food that he might do well on minus the gas and red inflamation?

There are so many dog foods on the market right now and most people are totally oblivious to healthy and unhealthy dog food. I used to be, but after looking into dog food and researching it I have completely changed my ways when it comes to dog food. All of the food in Wal Mart and most foods from other stores such as Petsmart are unhealthy garbage. Why? Because they either carry:

“Artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives,” all of these can cause cancer and several other health problems. Cancer is the #1 killer of cats and dogs.

“By-products,” they are the junk in meat that are not approved for humans to eat. Road kill, cancerous, dead, and dying animals are allowed as well.

“Fillers,” are corn, wheat, and soy products that virtually don’t have any nutrition in them. They pass right through. Which also makes your dog have to eat more food to feel full.

Surely good dog foods such as Science diet, Eukanuba, Iams, Pedigree, and Purina don’t have any of those and are great to feed my dogs right? Wrong. These foods have most if not all of these terrible things.

Here are the first ten ingredients of three of the so called best foods, which make up most of what your dogs eat and are the most important. The capitol words are the main things that are wrong in the ingredient lists.

Purina adult complete nutrition- WHOLE GRAIN CORN, POULTY BY-PRODUCT MEAL, ANIMAL FAT preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), CORN GLUTEN MEAL, MEAT AND BONE MEAL, brewers rice, soybean meal, barley, whole grain wheat, animal digest… (There is nothing good in that list at all)

Eukanuba-Chicken, CHICKEN BY-PRODUCTS MEAL, CORN MEAL, GROUND WHOLE GRAIN SORGUM, Ground Whole Grain Barley, Fish Meal (source of fish oil), Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Brewers Rice, Natural Chicken Flavor, Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed)… (Most of what you see are either fillers or by-products)

Science Diet- GROUND WHOLE GRAIN CORN, CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT MEAL, Soybean Meal, ANIMAL FAT (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Soybean Oil, Chicken Liver Flavor, Flaxseed, Iodized Salt, vitamins (L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Vitamin E Supplement, … (first ingredient is a filler followed by by-products and more fillers)

Here is a list of both cat and dog well known foods and treats to stay away from-Fancy Feast, Alpo, Friskies,Mighty Dog, Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Puppy Chow, Kitten Chow, Beneful, Purina One, Purina ProPlan, DeliCat, HiPro, Kit’n’Kaboodle, Tender Vittles, Purina Veterinary Diets, MeowMix, Gravy Train, Kibbles ’n Bits, Wagwells, 9Lives, Cycle, Skippy, Nature’s Recipe, Milk Bone, Pup-Peroni, Snausages, Pounce, Pedigree, Waltham’s, Cesar, Sheba, Temptations, Goodlife Recipe, Sensible Choice, Excel, Hills Prescription Diets, Nature’s Best, Diamond, Ol’Roy, Iams, Nutro, Royal Canin.

Here are some foods that I recommend- Timberwolf organics, Innova, California Natural, Evo, Blue Buffalo, Taste of the wild, Wellness, Merrick Before grains, Chicken soup for the dog lovers soul, Health Wise, Karma, Orijen. Plus there are many more great foods not listed. You have to look at the ingredients list of any food that you feed your dog. If it have any of the things listed as bad then immediately put it down.

To show what a good healthy dog food looks like, here is the ingredient list of Taste of the Wild High Prairie- Bison, venison, lamb meal, chicken meal, egg product, sweet potatoes, peas, potatoes, canola oil, roasted bison, roasted venison, natural flavor, tomato pomace, ocean fish meal, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, yucca schidigera extract, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Saccharomyces cerevesiae fermentation solubles, dried Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D supplement, folic acid.

David asks…

What is the best dry dog food that I can give my pitbull as of now I ve been feeding him Bil Jac?

Lately he has been passing alot of gas to the point where I have to take him to the vet to get his anal glands supressed is this because of his diet?

admin answers:

The most important thing with any food is how well your dog does on it.Gas and anal gland issues are likely caused by diet.

Some better quality foods to consider would be Wellness.Innova,Taste of the Wild,Orijen, among others.Better quality foods cost more but you feed less so the price difference isn’t as bad as it seems.
You can find ratings on kibble here- http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/index.php/cat/1

You may want to look into probiotics as well to help with the gas.It can be as simple as a tablespoon of plain yogurt with each meal or you can find probiotic powders formulated for dogs.

Better diet and stool quality/firmness should help with the anal gland issue as well.

Me and my girlfriend got a mixed breed dog today but after we brought it home, I discovered that the pet policy says we have to have a pet that is 25 pounds or under, our dog is about 60-70lbs. Is there any way this policy can be negotiated with, our dog is a pitbull mix and i want some tips, thank you!

admin answers:

You cannot pass off a 70 lb pit mix when the rules are 25 lbs or less.. You should return the dog where you got him, or you should find a new apartment.

James asks…

Is it possible to train a homosexual to be straight?

Pitbulls are born with a gene to be aggressive but if they’re raised nicely they can be sweet a bichon frises. Alcoholism is also carried in genes from parents, however if a person is raised in a nice family that person will not become an alcoholic.

So if being born with something doesn’t mean you „have“ to be that way. We’re letting people live with a genetic anomaly. So is it possible to train a homosexual to be straight?

admin answers:

No. And your examples are faulty. Alcoholism may be a gene that is passed from parents, but not everyone gets this gene, the same way that not everyone gets a gene for blonde hair or blue eyes, even if a parent has these characteristics. And I know alcoholics that were raised in „nice families“ and are „nice people“ and even hold down prestigious jobs in the community, but need a couple of drinks to get through the day. My grandfather was an alcoholic, and my mother doesn’t even like the taste. And yet several of her brothers and sisters (she’s one of ten) ARE alchoholics. And they were all raised in the same „nice family.“ How do you account for that? Training worked on some but not others?

It is true that just because you’re born with something doesn’t mean that you have to be that way. Many criminals and serial killers have been found to have an XYY genetic abnormality, but there are plenty of XYY people out there who are productive, law abiding citizens. So, yes, environment may have something to do with the package that makes someone a homosexual. Yet, we as a society don’t know what the magic forumula is that makes someone a homosexual, anymore than we know the magical formula that turns an XYY male into a serial killer. In the end, people are just different, and that’s all.
