Carphone Warehouse – Will the phone be unlocked?
Hi, I’m wanting to buy a samsung galaxy ace, i seen that it is £119.99 and I need another £10 top up, I would choose t-mobile, but I currently have a giffgaff sim that I would like to use on it.. Will the phone be unlocked? I haven’t bought from carphone warehouse in a while, but last time I did, it was unlocked to all networks..

Or do I have to buy it on sim free for it to be unlocked, because that makes the price go way higher… Thanks for your answers

I have bought from Carphone Warehouse on several occasions, and the phones I bought were always unlocked. The only exception to this is phones that are advertised as being on the 3 network. 3 will not allow Carphone to sell unlocked phones linked to 3’s network. However, all other phones are unlocked. A tip for you: any phone that is on O2 – even if it is locked to O2- will work on giffgaff without the need to unlock it. This is because giffgaff runs off the O2 network. If you buy the phone on the O2 network, you should be able to use the accompanying top up to add credit to your giffgaff sim, depending on how the top up is applied. If it is applied directly to the sim, then this won’t work, but ifi it is offered as a voucher, or code, etc, then this should work on giffgaff, allowing you to buy a goodybag, for example. Obviously, if there is another reason for buying it on T Mobile, then go ahead. The choice is yours – I’m just pointing out some options for you.

Samsung galaxy phone unlock code?
I just recently bought a used AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 2 phone. I want to know if i can get my phone unlocked for free if im using Pay as you go sim card from AT&T? If i cannot get it for free, how do i get the code?

The code is locked by AT&T and you can go to a shop or call a hotline (I am from germany so you must check what is faster^^) and ask how much it cost to unlock your phone.
What you have is called a sim lock and you can only use the sim card you have bought together with your phone.
Ask for the price and they unlock the phone so that you can use different sim cards.
The code is on each phone different so you can only unlock it by flashing the baseband of your phone to a sim lock free baseband. You can do this by using „Odin“. When you search a little on http://www.xda-developers.com/ you might find the right baseband for your phone.
But, if you do this you loose your warrenty. I am not sure if it is legal so I don’t give you the direct hint and let yourself explore the world of flashing. 🙂

Will unlocked phones work with Straight Talk?

I keep reading that unlocked phones will work with any company so I was wondering it I bought an unlocked phone if it would work?

You can bring a unlocked GSM phone, AT&T or T-Mobile phone to Straight Talk.
A Verizon, Sprint, Tracfone, Net10 will not work with this program.
I would look at the Straight Talk phones on E-Bay and see if you can get one at a reasonable price.
I would also look at the Net10 phones on E-Bay and see if you can get one at a reasonable price to use with Net10. Net10 unlimited talk, text and web with 30 service days is $50, which is only $5 more per month.
Personally I prefer Net10 over Straight Talk. Because I can buy my phones at other stores besides Wal-Mart. Other stores will put the Net10 phones on sale. The Straight Talk phones will not roam. Net10 allows their phones to roam.

I have an orange phone just now but moving to O2 not really wanting to change my phone where can i get it unlocked?
No the phone isnt stolen or anything of the kind, just so happens im wanting to change network is this a crime now a days? I dont think so. If you answer isnt helpful please dont post of this!!!

There can be many ways to Unlock your phone. As far as i know unlocking by codes is the simple and safe way. I will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
I used them to unlock my cell phone. Contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.
